About Me...

With 28 years of experience as a high school math teacher and volleyball coach, I have cultivated a deep understanding of problem-solving, precision, and leadership. I will use my ability to inspire students and athletes alike to showcase my talent for mentorship and fostering growth. I earned a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, which further highlights my passion for innovation and effective teaching, as I worked to integrate technology into learning environments. Throughout my career, I have always valued teamwork and collaboration, both in the classroom and on the court, creating environments where individuals thrive collectively. 

As a lifelong learner, I am now channeling my passion for growth and adaptability into an exciting new journey as a data analyst. Eager to embrace cutting-edge tools, I will strive to master Excel, SQL, and Tableau to transform raw data into actionable insights. I look to continuously improve my skills through constructive criticism and collaboration but eagerly share my skills to empower others. Learn Excel, SQL, and Tableau to utilize in data analytics. R and Python as needed as well as how to leverage AI to grow and learn as I code. I have a background in programming with SAS and Fortran but its been many years since I have utilized those skills. I am eager to share my journey.

To grow into a successful data analyst, I am using a variety of resources to build my skills and refine my approach. Storytelling with Data is a key part of my learning journey, helping me master the art of transforming complex datasets into clear, compelling narratives. Through this platform, I’m learning how to create visually engaging data visualizations that resonate with audiences while ensuring my insights are meaningful and impactful. By applying these storytelling principles, I’m strengthening my ability to communicate data-driven ideas in ways that inspire action and connect with stakeholders.

In addition, I’ve been diving into tutorials and insights from Luke Barousse and Alex The Analyst on YouTube. Their approachable teaching styles and hands-on examples make technical concepts with tools like Excel, SQL, and Tableau easy to understand and apply. To complement this, I’m also taking courses on Coursera, which provides structured pathways and certifications from top universities and industry leaders. These courses allow me to solidify my knowledge and build my credibility as I develop into a proficient data analyst. By combining storytelling techniques, practical tutorials, and professional training, I am equipping myself with the tools and skills needed to thrive in this exciting field.
